My name is Angie Horton and I am a very small hobby breeder in the foothills of North Carolina. In 2021 I lost my sister, suddenly, at the age of 34 due to heart disease. She loved flowers, but especially peach roses, so we changed our name to Ramblin' Rose in honor of her.
My husband and I own a small farm and have horses, cattle and sheep. I have always had a love of animals and as a teenager my family and I raised Shelties. I loved the loyalty of that breed, but my husband and I wanted a "tougher" breed for the farm. We discovered mini Australian Shepherds a few years ago and fell in love with them. We purchased our first Aussie for my son for his birthday and my first breeding female, Tessa, a year later. Our puppies are raised in our home and spoiled by our children every day. We only have about 2 litters a year, all of our adult dogs are our pets first and foremost, so we keep only a couple of breeding dogs so that they all get as much one on one time as we can give them. They spend their days playing with our children and following us around while we do farm chores, occassionally they try to herd a little although none of them have been formally trained. We believe that temperament is very important and will choose that over color or eye color when selecting our breeding stock. Since our ultimate goal is stable family pets, all of our dogs are great with children! We want our puppies to have the best chance at a forever home so we try our best to match every family with a puppy based on their needs and wants.
